I received my initial certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork from The Center for Massage and Natural Health in Weaverville/Asheville, NC. I take continuing education courses each year and plan to expand my knowledge and therapeutic offerings. As a result of this continuing education, I am also certified in Reflexology and I have training in Oncology Massage as well as Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy.
I believe intention is a guiding force in all of my work and my goal is always to help my clients improve their over-all health and provide relief for their immediate pain and muscle tension issues.
I feel very fortunate to have found what I believe is my calling; to help people through the power of touch and support them on their journey towards better health and pain relief in an effort to minimize the amount of medications they may need. If you have not tried massage, I assure you, it may just be the answer you are looking for. Please call if you have questions about whether or not massage may be a good choice for you.
A little bit about me:
I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Instrumental Music Education and taught for about 10 years. I married my High School sweetheart and during my teaching years we were establishing our family and have been blessed with three beautiful, intelligent daughters.
I then took a detour through the restaurant industry and stayed with that for another 10-15 years. After some personal tragedies in our family, I changed courses again. It was at this time I decided to pursue Massage Therapy as a career. This was something I had thought about for several years and had finally come to the time in my life when it was clear to me that I should take this next step.
I am so very happy in my new career and look forward to helping many people as I learn more and more new techniques! I look forward to meeting you soon!
In Peace,
Patti Selm
